Italian Lamon Beans - 1.1 lb (500g)

Lamon Beans, also known as Cranberry Lamon Beans, are Borlotti beans that have grown in the high Lamon and Sovramonte plains near Belluno, an area of Veneto where they thrive in the dry, windy climate and fertile soil near the peaks of the Dolomites. The seeds of the Lamon beans are only grown by small family farms in the territory of Lamon and Sovramonte, while the production is made in a larger area, within the province of Belluno. For this reason, Lamon Beans have the P.G.I. indication (Protected Geographical Indication). About 20 years ago a Consortium for the protection of the Lamon beans was created to ensure that the production is conducted respecting rules and the tradition.

Lamon Beans have a round shape and a light color with brilliant red stripes. Their skin is thin and the taste is rich.
