Sun dried tomatoes. Price per 1 pound. Salted and herbed tomatoes have been prepared in the south of Italy for centuries for the simplest of reasons: we had the tomatoes, the salt, the herbs and the sun. Today one can dry his or her salted and herbed tomatoes in the barely warm oven left with the door ajar for a couple or three days to be then preserved in olive oil and garlic. Or you can buy our sun dried toms, parboil them for a few minutes, pat the dry, let them cool and then preserve.
